How to get to London from Gatwick airport

Gatwick Airport is the second largest airport in the UK. There are several transportation options between Gatwick airport and Central London.

Gatwick Express

Gatwick Express is the fastest and easiest way to get to Central London. The trip is 30 minutes, and it takes 35 minutes on Sundays.

You can buy tickets online at Gatwick Express website, or at airport kiosks.

Gatwick Express arrives at Victoria Station. If you need to continue your journey beyond Victoria Station, you can take Underground from Victoria Station on Circle, District and Victoria lines.

Or you can take a cab from Victoria Station to your hotel or other destination - there is a taxi stand right outside of the station. Please follow the signs to find it. There is usually a rather long line, but it moves very quickly.

Thameslink

Take a look at the map and see where your final destination in London is against Victoria Station, the station of Gatwick Express arrival. If your destination is closer to Blackfriars, City Thameslink, Farringdon or St Pancras International station, Thameslink is a better choice. Read more and buy tickets online at Thameslink website.

Taxi

If you decide to take a cab from London Gatwick, it will take you about 1,5-2 hours to get to Central London, depending on traffic. The cost will approximately £100 + tip. Taxi from Gatwick airport is not the most pleasant experience because the traffic is almost always heavy.
