Buckingham Palace is the official residence of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family. Formal events and receptions by the Queen are also held in Buckingham Palace. A weekly meeting between the Queen and the Prime Minister, known as The Audience, is held at Buckingham Palace.

The Palace with an interesting history, it was first built during the times of James I, who reigned in 1603 - 1625, was later altered by Charles I, before he was executed at Banqueting House. The current looks of the palace dates back to 1698, when it came into possession of Duke of Buckingham, and was rebuilt completely. Buckingham Palace is open to public for several weeks during August and September, If you are planning your trip to London for these months, and want to visit Buckingham Palace, make sure to book your visit and buy tickets online in advance - there are too many people who want to visit the current residence of the Queen, and tickets sell out very fast.
