Day 1 - Westminster and Covent Garden

If you are exploring London on your own, arrive at Westminster Underground station (Circle, District and Jubilee lines). The attractions within walking distance are Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, as well as London Eye, London Aquarium, London Dungeon.

Once you have explored The Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey, you can cross Westminster Bridge on foot, it is a nice walk. From the bridge, or after you cross it, you can take fantastic pictures of Big Ben and Houses of Parliament.

London Eye is right there after you cross the bridge. If you haven't purchased a ticket online in advance, be prepared to wait in line as London Eye is one of the most popular attractions in London. London Dungeon and London Aquarium are also nearby. These are fun to visit with kids.

Walk to nearby Waterloo Underground station. Take Northern Line train to Leicester Square. It is 3-stop ride, will take you 10 minutes.

Have lunch in one of Covent Garden area restaurants: there are multiple options. Some include having a bite at St.Martin's courtyard, Covent Garden Market or numerous Chinatown restaurants near Leicester Square tube station.

After lunch and having some rest, why not explore the Covent Garden area. Nearby attractions include Covent Garden market, Royal Opera House, London Transport Museum, London Film Museum with Bond in Motion exhibition. Learn more about things to do and see at Covent Garden.

Even though it may seem just like a couple of hours of activities, it is more than that, and might get tiresome. It might be a good idea to head back to hotel before evening set of activities.
